The Concorso internazionale will screen as international premiere the third feature film from French filmmaker Mia Hansen-Løve, Un amour de jeunesse. After starting out as an actress Mia Hansen-Løve made her directorial debut with a short film, Après mûre réflexion, screened at Locarno in 2004. Her first feature, Tout est pardonné (2007), was selected for the Directors’ Fortnight, won the «Louis-Delluc First Film Prize» and was also nominated for a César in the «Best First Film» category. The director’s second feature Le père de mes enfants (Father of My Children, 2009) received the Jury Special Prize in the section Un Certain Regard.
Italian directors Gianluca and Massimiliano De Serio will present their first fiction feature Sette opere di misericordia as a world preview. The twin brothers have distinguished themselves with short films, documentaries and video installations that have been seen at numerous international festivals. Their short films Mio fratello Yang (My Brother Yang, 2004) and Zakaria (2005) were both nominated for the David di Donatello Prize and their second was a finalist at the European Film Awards.
The 64th edition of the Festival del film Locarno will take place 3–13 August 2011.
